ANNA TOEWS December 21, 1924 - November 3, 2007 After a lengthy battle with cancer, Anna Toews passed away peacefully early the morning of November 3, 2007. Anna was predeceased by her beloved husband Henry in 1994. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Hildegard, and Anne-Marie; her grandchildren, Henry and Luke; great-grandchild Ashley; extended family and friends. Anna was born in the Ukraine, was separated from her family during the Second World War, and immigrated to Vollendam, Paraguay, where she met, fell in love with and married her husband, Henry. After the birth of their two daughters the family immigrated to Winnipeg in 1961 in search of a better life. Anna worked hard all her life and was especially proud of her home, where she lived until 12 days before her passing. All who had the good fortune to know her came to recognize the twinkle in her beautiful blue eyes, her loving smile and her gentle nature. The family would like to thank the staff at the St. Boniface Hospital Palliative Care Unit for the respectful and dignified care they provided Anna in her final days; and Rev. Durksen, who nurtured her spiritual needs. Children I love you Love one another Help each other Life is short Anna Toews Viewing will take place Tuesday, November 6, 2007 from 8:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Klassen Funeral Home, and prior to the service.
