Emily was born and raised in Tolstoi, MB. At an early age she went to work in Port Arthur, Thunder Bay, ON, returning to Winnipeg where she spent the rest of her life. Emily worked at Bonar and Bemis Bag Co. for many years where she formed lifelong friendships. Emily married Edward Ptashnik in 1958. They enjoyed travelling all over Canada and the USA. Their favourite places were Hawaii and Las Vegas. Emily was a hard worker and loved her yard and garden. She lived in her home on Bannerman until the age of 92. She spent her remaining years living at Fred Douglas Lodge. A very special moment in Emily's stay at the Lodge was when she met and had her picture taken with Robin Williams (he was filming in Winnipeg at the time). She will be dearly missed by sister Mary Peleshok, brother Stanley (Jean) Kwasnicki, sisters-in-law Jean, Rosemary, Teenie and Gladys, many nieces, nephews and members of the Ptashnik family.
