Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDR. KENNETH FRANK WIEBE 1954 2007 Dr. Kenneth Frank Wiebe passed away suddenly on November 1, 2007 at Portage la Prairie, Manitoba. Ken was born in Winkler, Manitoba to Ben D. and Aganetha Wiebe of Plum Coulee on May 17, 1954. He graduated from Plum Coulee Collegiate and continued his education at Otterburn Bible College for a year, then went on to the University of Winnipeg to get his degree in Psychology. He completed his Doctorate in Clinical Psychology in Los Angeles in 1983. He was married to Alice Holstein and had one beloved daughter Kristy. Ken was employed by the Winnipeg School Division and worked with the Child Guidance Clinic. He was very dedicated to his profession of helping others. He had a strong work ethic and was highly regarded by his colleagues. His constant battle with the pain suffered in an earlier motorcycle accident left him unable to continue in his profession. Ken enjoyed many outdoor activities such as windsurfing, skiing, kayaking, and cycling until his deteriorating physical health prevented him from pursuing these activities. The family would like to thank our friends for their valued support during this most difficult time, and also thank those of you who helped Ken and cared about him during his lifetime. Ken was predeceased by his parents Bernhard Ben in 1983 and Aganetha in 1991. Left to mourn his sudden and unexpected passing are his daughter Kristy and mother Alice of Winnipeg, his special son Regan, Darion and mother Tracy of Winnipeg, his sister Olga (Jake) Dyck of Morden, his brother Leonard (Alvina) Wiebe of Plum Coulee, his brother Norman (Maureen) Wiebe of Portage la Prairie, his nieces and nephews; Don, Randy and Brenda Dyck and families, Pennie, Bonnie, Rob and Rolly Wiebe and families, Greg and Jennifer Wiebe and families. He will be especially missed by his many friends and acquaintances. We mourn the passing of a much-loved and deeply cherished member of our family. We rejoice in the knowledge that he is at peace with our Lord and Saviour. The passage marked in Ken's bedside bible was Psalm 23, The Lord Is My Shepherd . We know Ken is safe in God's loving arms, where there is no more pain and no more sorrow. Funeral service will be held in the chapel of the Omega Funeral Home on Thursday, November 8. 2007 at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor Ray Willms officiating. I knew Ken as Mr. Wiebe, the school I attended assigned him to me. He helped me sort out incredibly confusing feelings caused by childhood trauma. Later he returned to helping me as I turned into a young lady. He was the first man I learned to trust, he taught me to tell the truth, he taught me to understand myself, he also never forgot a thing in the 12 years he was there for me. Always there. I will never forget him, I will always appreciate what he did for me. I truly believe I would not have been here in the capacity I'm here without his help. - Posted by: Because of the way I knew him I can't leave my name. (someone he helped) on: May 21, 2014
