HARRY ADAMSON Peacefully with his family at his side Harry Adamson passed away on November 6, 2007 at the St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 82. Harry is survived by his loving wife of 54 years Helen; sons Don and Jay (Sherri); daughter Gloria (Jack Collison); grandsons Matthew, Devon, Cole, and Kevin; brother Arnold of BC; as well as numerous relatives and friends. Dad was born in Middlesbrough, England, emigrating to Canada at the age of one. He grew up at Young, SK, and served in RCAF 1943 to 1945. After serving, Harry worked for Firestone for 34 years until his retirement in 1982. After retirement, Dad continued his community involvement with such things as curling, golf, fundraising for numerous charities and the Air Force Association. He was a founding member of the Ghost Squadron , who restore vintage aircraft and other memorabilia. Dad enjoyed attending the Association conventions across Canada as well as the annual summer roadtrips to visit family and friends across the Prairies. Dad always said There is nothing like family... and enjoyed family gatherings, camera in hand. He was very supportive of his grandchildren attending sporting events and concerts. Harry was a gentle, kindhearted soul who was always giving of himself, thoughtful of others and never complaining to the end. Memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 10, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at the ANAVETS #283, 3584 Portage Avenue. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice. The family extends their sincere appreciation to the staff at Victoria Hospital 5S and St. Boniface Hospital 5A B. You are forever in our thoughts and hearts... Enjoy your High Flight .
