Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCHARLES STANLEY HOOPER 1919 - 2007 Peacefully on Tuesday, November 6, 2007, Charles Stanley Hooper, age 88 years, passed away at Deer Lodge Centre. Stan was born May 9, 1919 in Woodside, Manitoba. He was predeceased by his wife Olive, his parents, six brothers, and one sister. Stan and Olive were married October 5, 1950 in Neepawa, Manitoba, and together they raised their children Bill and wife Heather and their children Tim, Jennifer (Joe), and Matthew; Dorothy Hooper and husband Bob McNamara; Alan and wife Kathy and their children Brian (Sheri and great-grandson Daiton) and Tabitha, all of Winnipeg; Dale and wife Pam and their daughter Carys of Stephenville, Texas; Vivian Hooper and husband Carroll Pelletier and their children Darien, Amanda, and Ryland of Regina, Saskatchewan. He is also survived by sister Alice Denniston, brother Earle (Phyllis), and many nieces and nephews. Stan was employed at White Trucks for many years. He enlisted in the Canadian Army on April 11, 1941, and served in Canada, Britain, Italy, and Northwest Europe, with an honourable discharge March 29, 1946. Stan was very proud to have served his country and was a member of the Legion for over 60 years. He was a lifetime member of the St. James Legion Branch #4. The family would like to thank the staff on Tower 5 at Deer Lodge Centre for the loving care Stan received the last three and a half years. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Monday, November 12, 2007 at 2:30 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street at Luxton Avenue. Service will terminate at the chapel. Flowers are gratefully declined. If friends so desire, donations may be made to the Deer Lodge Foundation (2109 Portage Avenue, R3J 9Z9) in Stan's memory.
