LESLIE Defiantly, with family by his side, and after a brief battle with cancer, at the age of 85, Norm passed away at the Concordia Hospital on November 6, 2007. He is survived by one cousin Murray, his wife Jane and several close friends. He is predeceased by parents Sarah and Roy of Winnipeg, Manitoba. Norm was born in Flin Flon, Manitoba. His first love was aircraft and he joined the Air Force. He fought for our freedom in the Second World War. After the Air Force, Norm received his electricians ticket and worked at Seven Sisters. In his retirement years Norm was an avid gardener, super cook and loved to put up preserves. He was a generous man and loved all, especially children. His favourite pastime was listening to football and baseball games. The Blue Bombers were his team. Thank-you to all his friends for your support and a very big thank-you to the staff of Concordia Hospital for your compassion and caring way. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, November 14, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. in Thomson Funeral Home, 669 Broadway. In lieu of flowers, if you so wish, donations in His memory can be made to Canadian Wildlife Federation, 350 Michael Cowpland Dr., Kanata, Ontario K2M 2W1.
