ROY SAM SHERBO

Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROY SAM SHERBO It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that the family announces Roy passed away on November 5, 2007 at the age of 78. He is lovingly remembered by his wife Stella of 55 years, his son Roy and wife Monica, daughter Cathy, son Dan, grandchildren Melissa, Rebecca, Bryanna, Ryan and Emily, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Roy was born in Transcona on November 16, 1928 and lived and attended school in Transcona. He started working as an Apprentice Molder with the CN in 1946. In 1958 he went to work at Griffin Canada where he remained until he retired as a Maintenance Supervisor in November 1990. Roy was a dedicated and hardworking employee. Roy had many passions in his life. He enjoyed family gatherings, playing the accordian, bowling, fishing, golfing, playing cards, going to Bomber games, visits to the casino, vacationing in Hawaii, a Caribbean cruise and after his retirement RV camping. He especially enjoyed their 10 winters in Mesa, Arizona. Roy was a member of Saint Joseph the Worker Parish and Knights of Columbus Council #3853. He belonged to the Saint John's Cantius Polish Club and the Maple Leaf Senior's Club. Roy especially liked getting together with his family and friends. He was very committed to Stella, his children and grandchildren. Dad was very proud of his family and always supported their endeavours. He was the best husband, father, grandfather and friend. Dad will be remembered for his patience, unselfishness, kindness, devotion to his family and his loving warm smile. Roy was predeceased by his parents Frank and Wilda Sherbo, in-laws Adam and Sophie Golebiowski, sisters Edith and husband Douglas Wright, Pearl Jowsey, Ruby and husband Bob Smith. Our family would like to thank Dr. Caners, The Winnipeg Firefighters and Paramedic Service, the staff at Concordia Hospital and Father Jan Spyrka for their efforts, compassion and kindness. Dad we will hold you forever in our hearts, we will miss you dearly, but we know you are now at peace, never to suffer again. Cremation has taken place. Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 13, 2007 at Saint Joseph the Worker Parish, 505 Brewster Street. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Heart and Stroke Foundation. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
