Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWILLIAM (BILL) BURKE Peacefully, with his family by his side, Dad passed away on Wednesday, November 7, 2007 at Oakview Place. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Anne (August, 1997), and his mother Doris (March, 2004) and his father Joseph (January, 1971). Dad will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by his children Lynn and husband Lee, Nolan and his wife Mimi, Dale and his wife Valorie. A very proud and loving Grandfather (Grandpa) will be sadly missed by his grandchildren Shaun, Christopher (Corinne) and Alyssa, Crystal, Candace, and Keith. Dad will also be missed by his dear friend Rita Lacroix. Dad was born on May 9, 1929 the only child to Doris and Joseph. Dad spent his early years on his grandparents farm in Saskatchewan prior to moving to Winnipeg as a young man. After working at Furnasman Heating for 30 years, he then started his own business in the same field up until a few years ago. Dad was an avid 10 pin bowler which provided him with many trophies and accomplishments, traveling to various tournaments in Canada and the U.S. Dad and Mom made long time friends through bowling and enjoyed many good years with these people. Because of the love for this sport he was part owner of Northgate Bowl until 1986. Dad loved nature and the outdoors and many summers were spent at Otter Falls enjoying great times with family and friends. We all have many fond memories of those times spent there sitting by the fire or water skiing on the lake. There was always an abundance of food and laughter to go around. Dad also enjoyed many years of hunting, fishing and snowmobiling. Dad and Mom also became snowbirds and enjoyed many years down south. In March of 2007 Dad was admitted to Oakview Place, to whom we sincerely thank for their exceptional care of our dear Papa and our family in his final days. Cremation has taken place. The celebration of Dad's life will take place on Monday, November 12, at 11:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Donations in Dad's memory can be made to Oakview Place, 2395 Ness Ave., R3J 1A5, Alzheimer's Society of Manitoba, 120 Donald St., R3C 4G2 or a charity of one's choice.
