A. VICKTOR MOLUND
Born: Aug 10, 1931
Date of Passing: Nov 01, 2007
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryA. VICKTOR MOLUND On November 1, 2007, surrounded by his loving family, Vicktor Molund passed away at Peace Arch Hospital in BC. Vicktor was born in Winnipeg on August 10, 1931. He spent his childhood in Beresford Lake where he claims he walked to school barefoot, uphill, in knee-deep snow. Leaving the Gunnar mining community, he returned to Winnipeg to pursue accounting studies. Vicktor began his career at the University of Manitoba in 1957 and worked his way up to the Special Assistant to the Comptroller. He retired in 1988 and spent many happy years perfecting his golf game (unsuccessfully), traveling with Christiane and enjoying his grandkids. In 2005, Vicktor and Christiane headed for BC. Using his Nordic poles, he skied his way around sunny White Rock until his passing. Vicktor was loved by all of his family and many friends. During his time at the University, he joined the Society for the Advancement of Alcohol Consumption and General Knowledge, which met on Friday nights monthly in the winter and weekly after retirement. Vicktor was always a loving and responsible gentleman, who cared for his elderly mother-in-law Lilli, and life-long friends Bertha and Petra in their twilight. He was an active member of the United Church in Meadowood and of the condo committee in White Rock, and his organizational skill remains evident even after his passing. We will fondly remember receiving funny e-mails, getting beaten at Scrabble, hearing him whistle symphonies, and having discussions on the merits of the latest paperbacks. His kindness, his love, and his sharp wit will be forever cherished. Vicktor will be sorely missed by his wife of 46 years Christiane, sister Greta (Erick) and sister-in-law Diane, sons Paul and John (Sharon), daughters Debra (John) and Karen (Ben), and grandchildren Laura (Herman), Teresa, Ellen, Stefan, Philip, Robert, Sarah and Zachary. Vicktor was predeceased by his parents Lars and Ragna Molund, mother-in-law Lilli, daughter-in-law Grace, and an infant son and daughter. Our family would like to thank the caring and compassionate staff at Peace Arch Hospital ICU. Cremation has taken place. Best friends and honorary pallbearers are Terry Falconer, Gordon Trider, Gary Wilson, and Norman Long. A celebration of Vicktor's life will be held on Saturday, November 17, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at The United Church in Meadowood, 1111 Dakota St., Winnipeg, MB. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The United Church in Meadowood Memorial Fund, The Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of your choice. Forever in our hearts until we meet again.
