SISTER MADELEINE DESROSIERS o.s.u. (SISTER CAROL) Sister Madeleine entered Eternal Life on November 6, 2007 at Taché Centre where she had been a Resident. Sister Madeleine was born on March 23, 1921 in Bruxelles, MB the daughter of Donat Desrosiers and Marie Henrotte of Bruxelles, MB. Sister took her schooling in St. Marie School in Bruxelles and after having had some years of work experience she entered the Novitiate of the Ursuline Sisters of Tildonk in Blue Point, Long Island, N.Y. Upon completion of her Novitiate training she returned to Bruxelles, MB where, up until the day before she died, she spoke of her longing to go back home . She took up domestic duties as an assistant first in Bruxelles and later at St. Alphonse, MB. Sister Madeleine took a great deal of pride and care in her work. The starched linens, which were, then, a part of the traditional Religious Habit and all of the Church linens were kept beautifully laundered and meticulously ironed. In later years, Sister assisted with the kitchen duties with the same fidelity and dependability that were so characteristic of her. Sister's life was one of humble and generous service. Sister Madeleine was predeceased by her mother and father and members of her immediate family: sisters, Cecile, Letitia, Berthe and Antoinette; brothers, Armand, Andre, and Conrad; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law as well as members of her Ursuline Sisters of Tildonk. She is survived by her sisters, Marie-Jeanne and Angeline and brother Alfred; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, several nieces and nephews and members of her Ursuline Sisters Community. Prayer Vigil will be held on Monday, November 12 at 7:00 p.m. with Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, November 13 at 10:30 a.m. Both services will be held in the Chapel on the third floor of Residence Despins, 151 Despins St. Interment will follow on Wednesday, November 14 at 2:00 p.m. in Bruxelles, MB.
