ISABELLE GOODBRANDSON It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mom, grandmother and friend. Isabelle Goodbrandson passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 6, 2007. Isabelle is survived by daughter Gail (Robert), sons, Gary (Linda) and Garth (Lisa), grandchildren Shawn, Chris (Veronica), Jonathan (Caryn), Leanne, Samantha and Dale. She is also survived by her brother Jim Edwards (Vivian) and sister Betty Hepting (Hal). She was predeceased by her loving husband Siggi and her parents Richard and Elizabeth Edwards. Mom was born on March 2, 1932. Dad and mom were married in 1951. Mom was a devoted and caring wife and mother and a friend to many. She was well known as a fantastic cook who loved to entertain family and friends. She curled and golfed for many years. And, anyone who has ever walked with her needed track shoes to keep up with her. Isabel was an accomplished seamstress and she also knitted wonderful scarves, mitts, coats and blankets for all her grandchildren. With a warm sense of humour and a beautiful smile, our fondest memories of mom were Sunday dinners of roast beef and Yorkshire Pudding. Mom struggled the last several years of her life with Alzheimer's. It was a sad, long journey where eventually she no longer knew family or friends. We are very grateful to the staff of Riverview Health Centre for their exceptional care of our mother. We are also grateful to Elizabeth McBride who visited and cared for mom for the past several years. Elizabeth made her daily life so much easier. Mom is now at peace and reunited with her husband and our dad Siggi. Mom will be deeply and sadly missed. A private family service to honour her memory and to celebrate her life will take place. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire donations can be made to the Riverview Health Centre, The Alzheimer's Society of Manitoba or The Heart and Stroke Foundation.
