DAVID JAMES DEWAR After a courageous battle with cancer, we sadly announce the passing of David, beloved husband, father, brother and uncle on November 8, 2007 at the Riverview Health Centre. David is survived by Janet (his angel); son Donny and daughter Randi. His children are David's pride and joy. He also leaves his faithful dog, Tiny. David is also survived by sister Wendi and family, brothers Butch, Bobby, Alex and families, Tony Jensen, Chris, Kenny, Judy and families, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. David has now been reunited with Mom and Dad, Grandma and Grandpa, Nany and Grand-dad, Lady, his dog which he had for 18 years, Grandma White who we are sure was waiting for him with a beer and Edie Jensen. Who was David? For those of us who knew and loved him, he was just David- no pretenses. He was a jack of all trades, a skill he eagerly learned from our Dad. There wasn't anything David couldn't fix, build or rebuild. He had a passion for wood working and could make a piece of wood come alive . He made beautiful roses, eagles, dogs, etc. David loved playing cribbage, his harmonica and Jew's Harp. David lived his life his way- right or wrong. He was headstrong and stubborn but had a heart of gold and would give the shirt off his back if need be, but above all to his family and many friends, he was our David. We wish to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of Riverview 3 East, especially Dr. F. Crow, for the care and support given to David and his family as well as all those involved with David's care during his battle. Pallbearers are friends Chris, Terry, Bob, Steve, Jerry and Jason. Honorary pallbearers are his brothers, nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held Thursday, November 15, 2007 at 2:30 p.m. at Klassen Funeral Home. Donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, ON 109-675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, R3E 0V9. Arrangements entrusted to KLASSEN FUNERAL HOME 1897 Henderson Hwy. 338-0331 www.klassenfuneralhome.com Life stories may be shared with friends and family across the globe at www.mem.com.

Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • It has been almost 8 years since my pops passed away, I think of him more often than not.... He was there for whoever in a heartbeat and wasn't afraid to tell it how it is. There were 2 things he hated, a thief and a liar. Well dad u raised Randi and myself with greatness as we both turned out just fine... I miss you dad and thought of u today so I typed your name in Google and found this beautiful note from long ago.... Today would have been your 57th birthday!! Happy birthday dad!!!! Since you have been gone I found the love of my life Carrie Kielly, you would have loved her. she's definitely my soul mate, and as a celebration of your life and the beginning of ours we have decided to be married today February 10, 2015 (your birthday) as a symbol of love for each other but also for you.... May you rest in peace dad xoxoxoxo.... - Posted by: Donald Dewar (Son) on: Feb 10, 2015
