Left to mourn are her two sons, Roger (Patricia) and Jules (Helen). She was predeceased by her husband Ovila, daughter Lorraine and her husband Gerald, and great-grand-daughter Melissa Pearsehouse. Also grieving are her grandchildren, Lynne (Brad), Diane, Mark, Cathy, Dale (Barbara), Michelle (Patrick), Denise (Kelly) and great-grandchildren, Taylor, Teagan, Andrew, Mackenzie, Paige, Logan and Laine. As well, she is survived by her sisters, Evelyne Prefontaine, Simone Gosselin, and a large extended family. Yvonne was born on September 23, 1910, in St. Pierre Jolys, MB. In 1927 she entered Normal School and then taught in the St. Pierre area for the next four years before marrying Ovila and eventually raising her family in Winnipeg. After her children married, Yvonne again turned her hand to teaching, this time in Winnipeg. She was a independent woman of high integrity and moral values. She led a life centred on her family. Many thanks to the caring staff at Tache Centre, Residence Despins, and Oakview Place. In keeping with Yvonne's wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at a later date with interment to follow.
