Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOAN ROSS July 10, 1946 November 11, 2007 Peacefully with her family by her side, Joan passed away on November 11, 2007 at the Carman Hospital at the age of 61. Predeceased by her parents, Elsie and Levi and father-in-law, Malcolm, Joan is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, Terry; son Jeff (Christina); daughter Terri Lynne (Matthew); grandsons Gavin, Braeden and Benjamin; granddaughter Erin; brother Ab Clearwater (Marilyn) and her loving mother-in-law Kay; as well as many other loving relatives and friends. Joan was born in Carman, Manitoba where she attended school. She excelled in her academic studies as well as athletics such as basketball. After completing school, she began her career at Manitoba Hydro and took a sabbatical to attend Red River College to attain a certificate in Business Education. After attaining her certificate, Joan returned to Manitoba Hydro for the remainder of her career. Joan cherished the time she had with her husband, children, grandchildren and many close friends. Joan was a dedicated wife and mother, and was a true inspiration to all. During her three-year battle, Joan experienced several true blessings. She had the opportunity to visit her son and his family in Beaumont, Texas and friends in Vancouver, Calgary and Ontario. Her youngest grandson, Benjamin was born, and Joan and Terry celebrated together the tremendous accomplishment of 40 years of marriage. She also had the opportunity to evolve many wonderful friendships. Joan was an astounding competitor in all of life's ventures. She was driven by challenge and this showed in her many successes as a loving wife, mother and friend, and also as a professional. Her passion and talent for cooking was enjoyed by all that were welcomed into her home. Her determination to be a competitive golfer was proven in 2006 when she was the club champion lady golfer. In her last few years, Joan especially enjoyed her time spent with many close bingo friends. Many thanks to Elaine who took Joan on many of their trips when she was unable to drive. The family extends their sincere appreciation to all those medical staff who so graciously assisted her on her journey; CancerCare Manitoba, St. Boniface Hospital and mostly the Boundary Trails Chemo Centre and the Carman Memorial Hospital. Funeral service will be held at Carman United Church on Thursday, November 15 at 1:00 p.m. with a reception to follow. Terry, Jeff and Terri-Lynn, I am so sorry for your loss. Joan was a wonderful lady and I always liked her. It was great having you as neighbours, but I felt more like you were part of the family because I've known you my whole life!
