Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMICHAEL PASIEKA January 27, 1927 - November 9, 2007 Peacefully, Michael passed away on Friday, November 9, 2007, at the age of 80. He will be sadly missed and always remembered. Michael is survived by his beloved wife Jennie Pasieka; his sons, George, Jim and Stanley; his daughter Shirley; and his grandchildren, Will and Julia. Michael is also survived by two brothers, Joe and Bill; his sister Ann; his extended family and friends. He was born in Kalnikow, Poland, on January 27, 1927, and immigrated to Canada as an infant. He grew up on a family farm in Teulon, Manitoba. He received his education at 1109 McMillian school between Teulon and Komarno, Manitoba. At the age of 17 he went to work in the mines at Red Lake, Ontario, and later in Snow Lake, Manitoba, until March 1951. In 1952 he married Jennie Holoboff and settled in Winnipeg where he lovingly raised his family. He was employed by Winnipeg Electric, CPR Weston, People's Co-op Dairy and the University of Manitoba where he worked until his retirement. He had a gift of constructing from hand a family cottage and other structures. He was a dedicated father and husband. He spent his life making sure his wife and children were well taken care of. He enjoyed the special times camping and picnicking with his family and travelling in his retirement. A special thank you to the wonderful staff at the Golden Door Geriatric Centre for their compassion and care. Your help and compassion was greatly appreciated. Public viewing to take place between 7:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 15, 2007, at Thomson In the Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 1291 McGillivray Boulevard. A celebration of his life will take place at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, November 16, 2007, at Thomson In the Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 1291 McGillivray Boulevard. In accordance with Michael's wishes cremation will take place with his interment on Saturday, November 17, 2007, at 9:00 a.m. at Thomson In the Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 1291 McGillivray Boulevard.
