JACK PASSEY September 14, 1932 - November 9, 2007 Surrounded by loving family, Jack passed away after a brief and courageous battle with cancer at the age of 75. A devoted husband, he will be greatly missed by his wife Shirley of 25 years, children, Sydney, Laurel (Harvey) Leslie, Tom (Jennifer), Sheryl, Laurie (Greg), Sandy (Andy), Patti (Len), sisters, Evelyn and Shirley, sister-in-law Ivy, 11 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and in-laws, Doug (Diane), Jean and Laura. Predeceased by parents, Agnes and James, brothers, Tom, Russ, Harold (Lila), Jim (Anne), nieces, nephews, special nephew Bill and in-laws, Al, Gordon, Irene, Marlene and Edward. Jack was born and raised in Winnipeg. From a young age was passionate about sports, especially hockey and fastball, as a player and coach. He was actively involved at the YMCA, later the Rady Centre and his grandchildren's sports until the time of his death. Jack excelled in sales as manager of Richards-Wilcox, and then with wife Shirley, became original-successful franchise owners of MMMarvelous MMMuffins - Eaton Place, St. Vital Centre, was later employed by Brett Young Seeds, followed by Overhead Door. After retiring Jack enjoyed every moment of every day. He will be remembered for his warmth, generosity and sparkle in his eyes. Jack and Shirley enjoyed many happy times at their cottage at Big Whiteshell with their children and grandchildren. He rarely missed their games or practices, creating many lasting memories with them. The family would like to thank all the staff on Ward 3 at Grace Hospital for their compassionate care and a special thanks to niece (nurse) Cheryl Telford. Cremation has taken place and a funeral service will be held on Friday, November 16, 2007, at 12:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations to CancerCare Manitoba or charity of your choice. Dad/Poppa's sense of humour, wit and tenderness will be sadly missed by all. Arrangements entrusted to: CHAPEL LAWN FUNERAL HOME 885-9715
