Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLORELL ARLENE WEIGELT It is with sad hearts that we announce the accidental passing of Lori Weigelt of Portage la Prairie, MB, on November 9, 2007. Lori was born on January 4, 1966, to Albert and Freda Weigelt, a much beloved sister for her three older brothers. She was baptized at Peace Lutheran Church in Moosehorn, MB (Lorna Zutz and Arthur Drewlo as her Godparents). As a young woman she was also confirmed there. Lori grew up on the family farm and attended Alf Cuthbert School and later went to high school at Ashern Central School. After finishing her education she worked for a short time at Great West Life in Winnipeg. For the last several years she was employed by Moon Construction in Portage la Prairie. Surviving Lori is her partner John Van Aert; mother Freda Weigelt; brothers, Arden (Barb), Marlin, Norman (Joanne); nieces and nephews, Heather (Ryan), Brian, Laura (Scott), Katie (Curtis), Candice (Ken), Jodie (Will), Kelly, Baillee and April; three great-nephews, Logan, Warrick and Ethan. She is also survived by her partner John's family - children, Melisa, Kathleen, Carey; parents, Adrian and Rita Van Aert; sisters, Regina (Paul), Marylin (Danny); brothers, Richard (Susan), Adrian (Bonnie), Neil (Dianne), Paul; nieces and nephews, Chantelle, Daniel, Evan, Garrick, Ashley, Amanda, Jordan (Mackenzie); great-nephews, Logan and Dominic; also special friend Ken Southall; along with numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Lori was predeceased by her father Albert Weigelt; grandparents Rhinehart and Emma Weigelt, Martin and Louise Stebner. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 16, 2007, at the Peace Lutheran Church in Moosehorn, MB, with Rev Melanie Kauppila officiating. A private family interment to follow in the New Home Cemetery. Everyone in the congregation that day can consider themselves honorary pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 200 - 310 Broadway, Winnipeg, MB R3C 0S6. Our family would like to extend special thanks to the many friends and family members that have shown us their support at this difficult time. Your phone calls, prayers and visits will always be remembered. Our deepest sympathy, words alone can not express how sad we are to have lost such a dear friend. Your smiling face and 'the most beautiful eyes in the world' will always be remembered. You never failed to amaze us with your superb cleaning and organizational skills which were demonstrated while living next door to us at Portage/High Bluff district.
