Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryERICH CAUTHORN WEBER Resident of Walnut Creek A true gentle man in every sense of the word, much loved and respected by family and friends, Erich Cauthorn Weber passed away on Saturday, November 10, 2007 at John Muir Hospital. Born in Seattle, WA he spent most of his young life in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada where he attended Ravenscourt School. He graduated from Kemper Military School in Boonville, Missouri, served in the US Army in Alaska, and returned to Cornell University from which he received his Bachelor and Masters Degrees in Mechanical Engineering. He was a member of Delta Upsilon Fraternity and served as President in his senior year. He played varsity ice hockey for Cornell. Erich took his first job with Shell Oil Company in Martinez, and in 1960 he joined the Bechtel Corporation where he retired 34 years later. Erich was a proud and active member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers serving as Vice President of Region IX and was elected as a Fellow of the Society in 1980. He was an active member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church and served as President of the Men's Club. Erich was immensely proud of his four children and cherished the times spent with them. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Constance, his son Dr. Erich Christian Weber (Meredeth) of Central Point, OR, his daughters, Wendy Tanner (Lloyd) of Antioch, CA, Sally Sue Krajcir (Steve) of Coos Bay, OR, Lt. Col. Anastasia Ippolito (Frank) of Fort Lewis, WA, and grandchildren, Jason and Sean Tanner, Patrick, Kevin and Kelly Weber, Christopher and Kaylee Krajcir, Kacie and Charlie Ippolito and great-grandchild Audrey Brooke Tanner. Erich is also survived by his brother Dr. Neill Weber of Salt Lake City. Private graveside services will be held at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Lafayette, CA.
