JOSEPH NICHOL KRASNESKY (DEDE) It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of our Dede on Tuesday, November 13, 2007 at H.S.C. in Winnipeg. Dede was predeceased by his beloved wife Eileen, in 1990, as well as his six siblings, Jim, George, Olga, Connie, Grace, and Jean. He will be sadly missed by his son Kurtiss, his wife Arlene, and his precious grandchildren: Adam, Kairstyn, Kimberley, and Michael (Jen). He is also survived by his mother-in-law Velma Hastman, his sister, Francis Krasnesky, and his in-laws Lawrence and Helen Hastman, Doreen and Victor Typliski, Clara and Eddie Saluk, and Willie Yaldernick. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews who meant the world to him. Dede was born on August 7, 1935 in Ross, Manitoba, to Joseph and Teena Krasnesky. He grew up in a large family and went to work at an early age. Dede married Eileen in 1957 and they were soon blessed with their only child, Kurtiss. There were many happy family times at the Oasis. Dede enjoyed fishing and the annual deer hunt in Virden, Manitoba, with Ken, Wally, and Lawrence. He worked at Elmwood Cemetery for many years before becoming Assistant Director of Transportation at River East School Division. He retired after 25 years at the age of 60. Prior to his retirement he lived with Kurtiss, Arlene, and his grandchildren in their St. Andrews home. This cemented his ties with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was always there to baby-sit and chauffer his grandchildren to school, work, and their many activities, and just to be there for them. His grandchildren were his pride and joy. He centered his life around them. Michael, Kimberley, Kairstyn, and Adam were his whole world. They were fortunate to always have Dede in their corner. Our family wishes to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the home care workers who gave Dede support, dignity, and companionship during the past eight years. Our deepest thanks to these homecare angels: Cheryl, Julie, Yvonne, Alexis, and Rhonda. Up to his death Dede was compassionate, intelligent, sensitive, committed to life, and probably the most stubborn man on earth. We will miss Dede dearly, love him forever, and never forget him. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 17, 2007 at 11:00 am at Gilbart's Funeral Chapel, 309 Eveline St., Selkirk, Manitoba. A viewing will take place one hour prior to the service. Honorary pallbearers will be Ron and Allan Typliski, Darren Zembik, Brad Kramble, Bob Cherewayko and Ralph Cook Love you, forever and always, Dede. See yous guys later Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
