GLADYS (MONICA) HAZEL DOUGLAS (nee: BUCHENHAM) March 26, 1918 - November 13, 2007 Peacefully on November 13, 2007 at Maples Personal Care Home Mum quietly passed away. She was predeceased by her husband Hugh. Left to mourn are Her sons; Michael (Arlene); Hugh, Grandchildren Lee J., Desiree, Hugh, Holly, Great-grandchildren; Jada, Noah, Daughters; June ( England), Julie (Wales). Mum came from England as a War Bride in 1945. She and our Dad settled in East Kildonan. She really enjoyed any time she could spend at Grand Beach and never said no to a ride on one of our motorcycles. Her love of animals was a lifelong love. For many years Mum worked as a hostess at the Norwood Hotel. She also made many friends later on while doing her tea cup readings. We want to thank the staff at the Maples PCH for their excellent care of our loved one. Memorial service to be held on Tuesday, November 20, 2007 at 1:30 p.m. at Bardal Funeral Home, 843 Sherbrook Street. In lieu of flowers Mum would want donations to go to the Winnipeg Humane Society.
