MARY ELLEN (NEL) BREADNER 1930 - 2007 Nel peacefully passed away with family by her side at the Health Science Centre on November 14, 2007 at the age of 77 years. Nel was born in Virden, Manitoba to Frederick and Myrtle Hayhurst on March 29, 1930. She graduated from Virden High School before attending the University of Manitoba. After a year at the University of Manitoba she decided to attend Toronto College of Art. In 1953 Nel graduated with her nursing degree from the Brandon General Hospital. Soon after she graduated Nel married the love of her life, Bill, on October 2, 1953. Due to Bill's job as a hardware store manager they resided in many communities in Western Canada. Nel is survived by her beloved husband Bill, son John his wife Val and their children, Christopher, Matthew, Leslie, Heather, Shannon, Allison and David all of Kenora, Ontario, daughters, Shelley of Sidney, British Columbia, Terrill and her children, Michael and Hannah of Hampshire, Illinois, and son Mark his wife Heather and their children, Ashley and Madison all of Calgary, Alberta. Nel was predeceased by her daughter Leslie in 1990. Cremation has taken place and an interment will be held at the Breadner family plot in Brandon Cemetery.
