AUGUSTINE JOHN LUPTAK Peacefully on November 15, 2007 with his family by his side, Auggie passed away at the Grace Hospital. He was predeceased by his son Dennis; his parents, Anton and Emilia, as well as sisters, Victoria and Johanna and brother Euguene. Left to cherish his memory is his wife Ramona; their children; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Nancy (Andy) and family; Fay and family; Donna and family; Cathy (Glenn); daughter-in-law Linda and family; sisters, Magdalene, Catherine (Bernie); and Therese (Wilf); as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Auggie was born in Gimli, MB on January 9, 1927 and went to school in Camp Morton. Following in his fathers footsteps, he started working for the CPR at age 16. Auggie met and married Ramona, his wife of 60 years. Working for the railroad, they moved around southern Manitoba and raised their five children. He settled in Winnipeg where he retired after 44 years with the CPR. During his retirement he enjoyed bowling, golfing, gardening and a good game of cards. Auggie was first and foremost a family man. He was wonderfully generous and wouldn't think twice of lending a helping hand. He was active right up to the end and he will be dearly missed by his family and friends. The funeral will be held on Tuesday, November 20, 2007 at 3:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, 885-9715. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Auggie's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba.
