MARIA GLORIA SIMAO With love and sadness in our hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Maria Gloria Simao on November 17, 2007. Maria passed away with her family at her side at Riverview Health Centre at 62 years of age. Gloria will be sadly missed by her husband of 44 years Anibal; her children, Carlos, Aires (Sandy); granddaughters, Amanda, Kiera and Danica; great-grandson Brice and step grandchild Ethan; Godchild Doris (Danny) and many more friends and family too numerous to name. Gloria was such a wonderful special person who touched and enriched the lives of her family and friends. Thank you to all the family members and friends for their heartfelt support. Maria was born January 23, 1945 to Joao Cabral and Maria Isabel in Sao Miguel, Acores. Maria was a very loved woman, generous and hardworking. She enjoyed spending time with her family and would do anything for anyone in need. Maria was like an angel. In tears we saw you sinking, we watched you fade away. You suffered much in silence, you fought so hard to stay. You faced your task with courage, your spirit did not bend But still you kept on fighting until the very end. God saw you getting tired, when a cure was not to be, So He put His arms around you, and whispered Come to me. So when we saw you sleeping, so peaceful and Free from pain, we could not wish you back to suffer once again. The family wishes to extend special thanks to the staff of Riverview Health Centre 3 East Wing for the compassionate care given to Maria and their kindness and thoughtful gestures to the entire family. Prayers will be held on Monday, November 19 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 20, at 10:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, 181 Austin Street N. with Very Rev. José Eduardo Medeiros as Celebrant. Entombment to follow at Queen of Heaven Mausoleum, Assumption Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Riverview Health Centre, 1 Morley Avenue, Winnipeg, MB. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
