JAKE DYCK Jake Dyck peacefully left this world at Deer Lodge Centre on November 17, 2007. To cherish his memory he leaves behind his loving wife Patricia; his children, Jack (Vi), Jim (Irma), Judy (Herb), Jeff (Karen), Joyce, Jerry (Joeanne), Joanne (Gord), Janet (Gord), Mary (Guy), Karen (Clarence), and extended family Brian, Ron (Sherry), Terry (Joanne), Rex (Bonnie), Kathy-Lynn. Jake had numerous grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. Jake is survived by his siblings, John (Mary), Mary, Tina, Norma (Walter), and Henry (Josephine). He was predeceased by his first wife Helen, and his brother Leonard. Born in McMann, Saskatchewan on September 18, 1924, he moved to Manitoba at age 14. Working in many occupations he enlisted in the army in 1943. He served with the Armoured Carrier Regiment (Kangaroos) in the European theatre, mainly serving in Northwest Europe. He was very proud of his involvement in the liberation of Holland. Jake worked as a mechanic at Neufeld garage and J.A. Keddy then opened his own business, C J Auto Parts, in Steinbach from which he retired in 1988 and moved to Winnipeg. His passion for life included flying his planes, riding his Harley, playing musical instruments and working in his woodshop. Jake became ill in 2000 and moved to Deer Lodge in 2004. The family would like to thank the dialysis unit at St. Boniface Hospital for their care and support as well as the staff of T4 at Deer Lodge. In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution to the Kidney Foundation of Manitoba. A funeral service will be held at Cornerstone Alliance Church on the corner of Autumnwood and Cottonwood at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 21 with an internment to follow in the Memorial Cemetery in Steinbach. Viewing will be prior to service.
