IRENE ANNIE LADELL (nee SHAVER) Mum died 85 years young on November 17, 2007 at Seven Oaks Hospital. She is survived by her sister Rachel (Wazny); sons, Larry and Glen (husband of Karen); grandchildren, Glen Jr., Sheryl-Lynn, Jay, Ross, Ian and Neil; her great-grandchildren, Becky, Kayla and Olivia; also her special cousin Berle Shaver; and nieces and nephews. Mum was born August 1922 in Kipling, Saskatchewan to pioneer parents. She had an especially difficult life in difficult times and bore it all with a wry sense of humour. Mum loved animals and was proud of how as a child she fearlessly rode horses bareback at a gallop. She was predeceased by siblings Velma (Carlson), Margaret (McFetridge), Vincent (Shaver), Hilliard (Shaver), and her former husband Frederick. A service to celebrate her life will be held on Wednesday, November 21 at 11:00 a.m. at Friends Funeral Service, 2146 Main Street, Winnipeg. Mum was cremated and will be interred at Green Acres Memorial Gardens. The family thanks the doctors, nurses and staff of the 5th floor Unit 3 at Seven Oaks Hospital for their care.
