HENRYKA SABINA JONCA With great sadness, we announce the death of our mother Henryka Jonca on Sunday, November 18, 2007, at the Deer Lodge Centre at the age of 82 years. Remaining to forever cherish Henryka's memory are her children and their families, Elizabeth; Anna Guerra (Tony) and Tomas (Rosie); grandchildren, Henry Yonza; Robert Yonza (Malgorzata); Monica Guerra (Terrance Cassan); great-grandchildren, Cassidy, Alexandra, Maximillan, Evan and Natalia; as well as relatives in Poland and the United States. Henryka was born on December 3, 1924, in Poland. She married at the early age of 15 to Piotr Pawel Jonca in 1939. Together they had three children, Elizabeth, Anna and Tomas. In 1968, Henryka fulfilled her lifelong dream for her family and herself. She had always wanted to live in a democratic country, thus her arrival in Winnipeg, Canada. Henryka came alone in 1968 but her family followed soon after. She loved to paint and did many oil paintings, which the family now will cherish. With her husband Piotr, they enjoyed their retirement until Piotr passed away in April of 2000. Prayers will be held on Thursday, November 22 at 7:00 p.m. in the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Roman Catholic Church, 4588 Roblin Blvd. at Grant Avenue. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, November 23 at 10:30 a.m., also in the Church, with Rev. Fr. Barry Schoonbaert, presiding. Interment will follow in Assumption Roman Catholic Cemetery, 3990 Portage Avenue. The family would like to thank the staff at Deer Lodge Hospital, Five West Ward, for their care and support. In lieu of flowers, in memory of Henryka, donations may be made to the CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3E 0V9 or to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 45 Hurst Way, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3T 0R3.
