SYLVIA DELLA TRAVERSE (nee ROSS) June 14, 1942 - November 18, 2007 On November 18, 2007 Mom was welcomed into Heaven by her Saviour Jesus Christ. Mom went home to join her loved ones that passed on and especially by her beloved husband, David Elmer Traverse Sr. who went ahead to Heaven on May 17, 2007. Greeted in Heaven by family and friends that she truly missed, Mom is now free to live forever in the Kingdom that she knew was waiting for her. Sylvia leaves to cherish her memory, daughters: Francine (Ronald) Marion, Esther (Harold) Hourie, Della (Allen) Anderson, Lucille (Gary) Sanderson, Vivian (Kurvis) Anderson, Karen and Lillian, sons David (Cassie) Traverse Jr. and Timothy (Maxine) Traverse. Special Grandchildren: Allan (Tina) Anderson, Ryan (Jesse) Anderson, Ainsley, Kaylee, Kelsey, Shaunice, Vince, Sherilyn and Colton. Grandchildren; Miranda, Shannon, Tony, Tiffany, Amy, Brittany Harold Jr. six great-grandchildren and her Special Great-grandchild, Tyson Shorting-Anderson. Surviving family members her loving brothers, Marshall Ross and David (Christine) Ross and loving sisters Rose (John) Anderson and Hazel (Eric) Shorting. In-Laws: Mother-in-law Flora Traverse, Sisters-in-law Rosemary (Robert) Forbes, Dorothy (Walter) Anderson, Linda (Clements) Prince, Lillian (Peter) Ross and Elizabeth Traverse, Brothers-in-law Gordon (Betty) Traverse, Norman (Winnie) Traverse Sr., and John Traverse, numerous Aunts and Uncles, Nieces and Nephews, and relatives in nearby communities of Dauphin River, Little Saskatchewan, and Pinaymootang. Sylvia was predeceased by her loving husband of 48 years, David Elmer Traverse Sr. on May 17, 2007. Mom had truly shown that a love such as theirs was to be forever. Mom followed dad to Heaven because we knew she missed him everyday and was very lonely for Dad. Mom would often mention Dad and cry a few tears that she wanted to be where he was. Mom and Dad were always together. Dad's saying to her and all of his children, was that we can't always be together but in Heaven we will be together forever. We were blessed to have parents that showed us love and care that no one can ever compare. Our mom and dad gave us so many memories that cannot all be remembered at once. These memories, we believe, they knew we would reflect on them once they went home to Heaven. Our mom was so precious to us. She showed unconditional love to each of us that we feel truly blessed. We know that she is where she was meant to be, with our dad in Heaven. A Wake Service will begin on Friday, November 23, 2007 at 6:00 p.m. at the Day of Pentecost Church at Lake St. Martin First Nation. The Funeral Service will also be held at the Day of Pentecost Church on Saturday, November 24, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Wilfred Bruce officiating.
