Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARY NICHOL (nee KOCIUK) May 17, 1915 - November 19, 2007 After a brief illness, on November 19, 2007 Mary passed away at Lions Care Centre at the age of 92. Mary was predeceased by her husband Fred in 1969; sister Olga Danko; brothers, Joe, Walter, Steve, and Mike. Mary will be lovingly missed by her son Roy (Jacquie); grandchildren, Jason (Ginette), Cheryl (Trevor) Horbachewsky; great-grandchildren Calla, and Aspen. Mary will also be remembered by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Mary was born and raised in Cooks Creek, Manitoba. She moved to the big City (Winnipeg) at the age of 14 and worked as a live-in housekeeper for a Doctor's Family. Mary worked in the sewing industry for a number of years where she was very proud of the quality of her work. She married Fred and moved into a single room on Sherbrook Street before buying their first home on Strathcona Street where they raised their family. Mary loved dancing, travelling, and driving her 1968 Meteor; in her later years she enjoyed her trips to the casino. She had a zest for learning; she kept very active with puzzles and reading and had an innate curiosity. Mary was extremely generous and loved her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and all the family pets. The family would like to thank Judy for her compassion and help. As well as the staff at Lions Centre for the wonderful and thoughtful care they provided. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 24, 2007 at 12:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. with a reception to follow.
