IRENE BRISSON (nee LAURENCE) Peacefully on Monday, November 19, 2007 at St. Boniface General Hospital, surrounded by her family, Irene passed away at the age of 91. She was predeceased by her husband Gedeon, her parents Narcisse and Lea, brother Rodolphe, and sister Therese. She is survived by her son Lionel and wife Anne, granddaughter Lynn (Jim), and grandson Joey (Julie). She also leaves to mourn her great-granddaughters, Chantel and Kassie Dolphin and Renee Brisson, Anne's daughters, Andrea Stolle (Jack) and children, Heidi Stolle, her loving nieces, Huguette and Henri Fortier (Andre), Madeleine and Henri Rochon (LoriAnn, David and family) (Richard and Shy), Lise Rozmus (Michael and Stephanie), Suzanne Mondor and Elmer Hintz (Rheal, Bruno, Janelle and Jean and family), Colette St. Onge, as well as brother-in-law Denis Brisson and wife Yvette, sister-in-law Rita, Kalman and family and will be remembered by many other family and friends. Irene was born in Letellier, Manitoba on May 31, 1916 and grew up in the local area. She married Gedeon on January 30, 1943 and together enjoyed 37 years of marriage. Irene loved life, fun, dancing, playing cards, traveling, and going to the casinos. She was a talented seamstress who worked tirelessly to complete beautiful outfits for herself and her family. She enjoyed many summers camping at Nutamik and later St. Malo and gardening with her nieces. Her daily walks to the Chicken Chef to meet friends for coffee and spending time with her family gave her great pleasure. The family wishes to thank the staff of both the ER and Palliative care units of St. Boniface General Hospital as well as the Good Samaritan who kindly assisted Irene by calling 911. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday November 24, 2007 at Green Acres Funeral Home and Cemetery, Hwy. #1 East at Navin Road.
