SIMONE MAYNARD (nee TURENNE) Peacefully on Tuesday, November 20, 2007, at the age of 89, Mom passed away at the Repos Jolys surrounded by the love of her family. She leaves to mourn her sons, Gilbert (Leonne), Guy (Monique), Pierre (Andree), Maurice, Michel (Ursula), Jacques (Lynda), Claude (fiancee Trudy), Helene and Gisele: numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Also her sisters, Irene Berard, Jeannine Zabloski (Jos), one brother Robert (Alice), one brother-in-law Emilien Prefontaine and one sister-in-law Magella Turenne. Mom was predeceased by her loving husband of 40 years, Jos; her father Adelard and her mother Florida (Fontaine); her brothers Denis, Marcel, Andre, Auguste, Gerard, Gilbert and Rene: sisters, Cecile Prefontaine (Emilien) and Lucie Catellier (Hermile). Mom was born September 5, 1918 in Dollard, Saskatchewan. Mom loved to work in her yard and flower beds, sit on her front porch enjoying nature. She also travelled extensively. She volunteered on numerous organizations, giving her time unselfishly. Mom was a devout Christian and had a special place in her heart for her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank the staff at the Repos Jolys for their wonderful care and compassion. Funeral service will be held in the St. Malo Roman Catholic Church, November 27, 2007 with prayers at 10:00 a.m. followed by mass at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mom's memory to CancerCare Manitoba or the Repos Jolys.
