Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKATHLEEN MARY (KAY) COURTEAU (nee PRICE) Peacefully, on Friday, November 16, 2007, surrounded by love, our dear mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away at Riverview Health Centre. Mom was predeceased by her loving husband John in 1996, her parents and her brother Laurie. Mom's memory will forever be cherished and remembered by son, Paul (Donna) and their children: Meghan (Danny), Morgan, Kyle, Gabrielle and Stephen; daughter, Madelaine Lemay (Jerry) and their children, David (Katherine), Robert, Marie and Mom's great-grandson Mikel; daughter, Anne Gustavson (Peter) of Victoria and their sons, David and Matthew; daughter, Susan Tobia (Mario) and their son John. Also surviving are Mom's two brothers, Les of Toronto and Mike (Ruth) of St. Helena, CA. Mom was born in the seaside town of Brighton, England on April 9, 1924. She and Dad met at a Sunday Tea Dance organized for the troops. They were married on October 16, 1943. Mom and Dad were active members of St. Thomas More Parish. Mom served a term as president of the CWL and was actively involved with church activities for many years. Mom loved to entertain. She was a marvelous cook and a gracious hostess who had a flair for making every occasion special. Mom loved to garden, read and spent many happy hours playing Bridge. She had a great appreciation for music and enjoyed many seasons of both the Royal Winnipeg Ballet and the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra. She and Dad enjoyed traveling and were blessed with many special friends throughout their lifetime. In 1990, Mom and Dad relocated to Victoria where they resided until Dad's death. We all knew that Mom loved Victoria, so reminiscent of England. Alzheimer's robbed Mom of her memories and abilities but through it all, her lovely smile and gentle nature remained. We have been blessed with the great kindness of Mom's loving companions. Their wonderful care, dedication and support will always be remembered. Our heartfelt thanks to each one of them. The family is also grateful to the caring staff of CD4 for all they have done. A special thank you to our Riverview friends who shared their presence and offered prayers for Mom. Your kindness truly brightened our days. A service for the immediate family is planned. Should friends so desire, a donation in memory of Kay can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba. The Lord bless you and keep you; The Lord make his face shine upon you And be gracious to you; The Lord turn his face towards you And give you peace. (Numbers 6:24-26)
