ADELE ANNIE WIPPER October 22, 1905 - November 19, 2007 With love and sadness in our hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Adele Wipper at Meadowood Manor at the age of 102. Adele will be sadly missed by her children, Inga Palson (Oli), Audrey Halowaty (George), Arnim, five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and many relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Albert in 1984 and sister, Monita. Adele was born in Germany (Kotech, Poland). She came to Canada in 1929 at the age of 24. Mom settled in Winnipeg and worked in the Children's and Municipal hospitals as a cook till she married Albert in 1932. They lived in Winnipeg for several years where their two daughters were born. Later she moved to the farm with Albert in Grahamdale, Manitoba where she toiled faithfully as a pioneer wife till 1967 when they retired back in Winnipeg. Although mom enjoyed the animals on the farm she was happiest to be back in her Winnipeg home on Consol Ave. While on the farm Mom provided well for the family with her cooking and knitting skills. Mom enjoyed visiting with her friends on the farm, on Consol Ave. and at Meadowood Manor. Her eyes would light up when her family came to visit, particularly grandchildren. She always asked about our lives and provided us with her intuitive comments. Mom was a strong person with traditional values but made an effort to understand change as well. The family wishes to thank the staff at Meadowood Manor for their care and human touch. A memorial service will be held on November 29, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. at Meadowood Manor, 577 St. Anne's Rd. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Heart and Stroke fund or a charity of your choice.
