MICHAEL YALE ROSENBERG
Date of Passing: Nov 10, 2007
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMICHAEL YALE ROSENBERG With broken hearts, we announce the passing of our son, brother, grandson, nephew and friend, Michael Yale Rosenberg of blessed memory on November 10, 2007. Michael is survived by his parents Lionel and Esther, his sister Arlee, his brother Ryan and his wife Nava, Babas Sybil Rosenberg and Clara Dichter, Uncles and Aunties Avril Kettner, Shelley and Howard Bogach and Sidney and Karen Dichter and many cousins and friends. Michael was a graduate of Joseph Wolinsky Collegiate where he excelled in athletics, especially basketball where he was an important member of the Varsity team. His summers were spent at Winnipeg Beach, Camp Massad and B'nai Brith Camp where he grew to love the outdoors and fostered strong friendships. Michael graduated from the University of Manitoba with a political science degree. His great interest of Canadian politics drew him to Parliament Hill where he served as an intern for several cabinet ministers. Returning to Winnipeg, he continued to nurture his passion for politics, acting as a campaign advisor for a federal candidate. He also recently ran for M.L.A. in Charleswood after being nominated by the Liberal party. Michael developed a successful internet venture intertwined with his father's business, selling restaurant equipment around the world. But far beyond any entrepreneurial project, it was his deep love for Yiddishkite, Torah study, music and Israel that spoke to him most. Michael was a kind and gentle soul who was loved deeply by all that knew him. He touched people with his selflessness, humour, sensitivity and human understanding. Michael's quiet way, soulful eyes, and beautiful smile will remain etched in the minds of all those who knew and loved him. May his memory always be for a blessing. Donations are welcome to the Michael Yale Rosenberg Memorial Funds at the Jewish Foundation of Manitoba, The Canadian Museum for Human Rights and Chabad-Lubavitch Winnipeg.
