JOAN PERRIN (nee GREEN) On Thursday, November 22, 2007 at the age of 83 years, Joan, the Matriarch of our family, passed away peacefully with her loved ones by her side. Mum will be lovingly remembered by her son Barrie (Jo-Anne); daughters Cathie (Doug) and Jackie (Brian); grandchildren Brett (Michelle), Julie (Rob), Kent, Michael, Scott, Katie (Len), Tyler, and Casey; great-grandchildren Mackenzie and Jake; brother Ken (Joyce); sister Beryl; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, along with many dear friends. Joan was predeceased by her beloved father Jack, mother Elsie, husband John, and cherished pet Penny. Our sister, Mother, Nannie (Grandmother), and Great-Grandmother courageously battled cancer with strength and dignity. Joan was born and raised in Kingston, Surrey, England, where she lived until she joined the war effort and met her husband John. As a war bride, Joan came to Canada to join her husband and raise a family. As an inherently positive person, she lived life to the fullest, often traveling to see her family in England and enjoyed many visits and adventures with the Cedars from Ottawa. Mum's interests and hobbies included spending time with her grandchildren, walking with her friends, knitting, and reading. A celebration of Joan's life will be held on Monday, November 26 at 2:00 p.m. in the Harrow United Church, 955 Mulvey Avenue at Harrow. Our family would especially like to thank all the staff in Palliative Care at St. Boniface Hospital for their professional and compassionate care, making her last days dignified and peaceful. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joan's memory to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3E 0V9, or to the charity of one's choice.
