Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARGARET JEAN MCTAVISH On November 21, 2007 Mom passed away peacefully at the Pembina Manitou Health Center in Manitou, at the age of 91. She was predeceased by her husband Jack in 1987, brothers Walter and Bob McGregor and sisters Mary Bannister and Annie Gorrell. Surviving family members are Helen Bell, George (Mary) McGregor, sister-in-law Margaret McGregor and brother-in-law Allie McTavish as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Jean leaves to cherish her memory her daughter Helen (Don) Tole, three sons Edwin (Lovie), Walter (Dean), and Brian. Mom enjoyed time with her seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Mom was born on December 4, 1915 in Manitou, Manitoba just before her father went overseas to fight in the First World War. After receiving her Grade 12 in Manitou, Mom went to work on the McTavish farm at Rosebank where she met and married Dad in 1936. Mom loved working in her garden and especially with her flowers. The home farm was always a place where family and friends enjoyed visiting. Mom loved company and always had home baking and a cup of tea ready for whoever popped in. Mom lived with her son Brian on the farm until after her 90th birthday when due to failing health she had to go into a nursing home. The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at Manitou Health Center for their care and compassion. In keeping with Mom's wishes cremation has taken place and a memorial service celebrating her life will be held on Monday, November 26, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at the Miami Community Hall in Miami, with Allison Halstead officiating. Interment will take place in the Fairview Cemetery, Roland. If so desired donations may be made in Mom's memory to the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook St. Winnipeg, Mb. R3C 2B7 or to a charity of one's choice. Doyle's Funeral Home in care of arrangements.www.doyleschapels.com
