LEONARD STANLEY MARYNEWICH April 10, 1946 November 24, 2007 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Len, peacefully at the Beausejour Hospital on Saturday, November 24, 2007 at the age of 61 years. Len is survived by his daughter Donna (Andy) Lentz; son-in-law Ron Artimowich and his two grandsons, Jeremy and Logan; sisters, Alice (Ken) Inniss, Shelley Smith (Cail), brother Ken (Gail) Marynewich; sisters-in-law Linda (David) Bullman, Jean (Jim) Revill, many nieces, nephews, and wonderful friends. Len is predeceased by his wife Pat in 2004, daughter Carol in 2005, mother Helen in 2000, father Stan in 1967, a son in infancy; nephew Sam in 2004; mother-in-law Anne in 2006, and father-in-law Jim in 1967. Len was born in Selkirk and raised on the family farm near Beausejour. As a child, Len would help out on the farm. As he got older, he wanted to try his hand at something else, so in the mid 60's, he went to work on the floodway. Len enjoyed operating heavy equipment and driving truck, which led him to start his own trucking and excavating business, which many people know today as Len's Trucking. During days off from work at the floodway, Len and his buddies would go to into Winnipeg. That is where Len met Pat. They dated a while, then married on March 2, 1968. Len and Pat made their home in Beausejour, where Pat worked as a nurse and together, they ran the business; Len, out hauling in the tandem or operating equipment and Pat managing things at home on her days off. Summers were very busy with work. Len would take off on long weekends one to go to Grand Forks shopping and the other to go rent a cabin to go out boating. Len enjoyed just driving around in his boat and when not out in the boat, he would be at an auction sale. Winters were slower for Len, clearing snow and cutting wood. This is when Len and Pat had a chance to get away; his favourite spots were Mazatlan or Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. They also took many trips to Las Vegas. Len had two daughters, Donna and Carol, and two grandsons, Jeremy and Logan, his pride and joy. He liked to visit the boys to watch them drive their quad or dirt bike and winter, watch them play hockey. Len will be remembered for his positive outlook to whatever life dealt him and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 28 at 2:00 p.m. at the Sobering Funeral Chapel, Park Avenue E. Beausejour, with Rev. Roland Rendell officiating. Interment will follow in the Beausejour Town Cemetery. Friends may view prior to the service. We would like to thank Dr. Zeiler for all his medical care over the years. In lieu of flowers, donations in Len's memory may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9.
