Date of Passing: Nov 22, 2007
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDOUGLAS GRANT BURTON On November 22, 2007 after a year long struggle surrounded by his family, Doug passed away peacefully at home. Doug is deeply missed by his loving wife Sandi, his children Luke (Lisa), Stacey and JenJen, his parents Walter and Eleanor, sisters Bonne (Kerry), Debi (Mark), nephews John (Sandra, Taylor, niece Jessika (Bain), Momma Jean Borowski (they enjoyed coffee together every morning) and sisters-in-law Karen and Debi. Doug was born in Hamiota, MB on December 26, 1948 and spent his childhood in Winnipeg, Toronto and Corner Brook, Newfoundland. Prior to returning to Winnipeg, Doug also lived in Fenelon Falls, Ontario with Luke and Stacy, enjoying the outdoors and riding his Harley. Doug married the love of his life Sandi Borowski on November 25, 2006. They embarked upon a new life and traveled to Niagara Falls, Hawaii and Las Vegas, started a new business and spent many miles on Doug's Harley Davidson Ultra Glide. They knew they had a limited amount of time and enjoyed every precious moment. Doug enjoyed his time at Groundstar Systems Ltd. where they treated him like family and he enjoyed his position as manager of the caulking division. Him and his buddy, Tom Gill (wife Dorothy) enjoyed the passion for the ride and spent many miles following that white line together, if they had to explain it, you wouldn't understand. A favourite quote of Doug's was Life isn't measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away. A special thank you to Dr. Taraska for taking Doug under your wing . His palliative care nurse, Olga for all your support and understanding, Sandy Burton (Borowski) would also like to thank Bonnie, Deb and Mom and Dad Burton for the 24/7 loving care of Grant and the help and support you provided. Words cannot convey how much I appreciate and love you. I'm blessed to have two amazing sisters-in-law, Mom and Dad Burton who are so loving and supporting. My daughter JenJen, who loved her stepdad as her own, and was always ready to help and support in any way possible. My mom Jean Borowski, who held me together through it all. My sister Karen and my friend Diana, who kept the business running through the difficult times. My dearest and best friend in the world Bev. Thank you.
