GARY LINDSAY Peacefully, with his family at his side, on Saturday, November 24, 2007, Gary Lindsay at the age of 69 years, passed away at St. Boniface Hospital. Gary will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Yvonne; children, Jeff (Jodi), Craig (Rachel) and Todd (Cher); eight grandchildren, Carter, Delaney, Reagan, Drew, Brendon, Christian, Alyssa and Danica; brother, Ken from California, as well as numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces and friends. Gary was born February 4, 1938 in Kelowna, BC. As a young boy in Kelowna, Gary enjoyed playing soccer and baseball. He moved to California at age 13 and attended Hollywood High. While in California he met Yvonne and was married in 1962 and returned to Winnipeg. After his boys were born, he took great enjoyment in coaching baseball and hockey, taking them on fishing trips and spending the summer months at Gull and Falcon Lake with his family. Throughout his life, Gary had many passions; some of which included playing many different sports such as hockey and softball. He was an avid golfer and model car collector. He enjoyed travelling to many places, on many occasions. He especially enjoyed spending many days visiting with family and friends in Iowa. Dad was a loving husband, a wonderful dad and a playful grandfather, and will be missed by all who knew him. Gary's family would like to extend special thanks to the staff of M.I.C.U., St. Boniface Hospital for all their wonderful care and compassion. Viewing will take place at Green Acres Funeral Home, Hwy. No. 1 E. at Navin Rd., from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 28, 2007. Funeral mass will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 29 at St. Emile's Church, 556 St. Anne's Rd. Interment will take place in Green Acres Cemetery. Gary's pallbearers will be messrs. Brian Barnabe, Darryl Deserrano, Phil Verplaetse, Calvin Edie, Al Sedo and Alain Hince. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Gary's memory to CancerCare Manitoba Foundation, 675 McDermot Ave., Room ON1160 Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9.
