RICHARD JOHN BENJAMIN September 7, 1946 - November 25, 2007 Following a brief battle with cancer, Rick passed away peacefully at the Winnipeg Health Sciences Centre. He will be greatly missed by his three daughters, Jonelle, Jada, and Kira; his son Aaron; grandson Devin; parents, Leo and Jean; brothers, Phil (Charlotte), Edward (Marla) and many close friends. Born in Stonewall, Rick graduated from the University of Manitoba with a degree from the Faculty of Agriculture. Rick was a unique and creative man. He was a successful entrepreneur, inventor, talented artist and craftsman. Rick had a vast number of interests including culinary arts, woodworking and plant life. He was an avid history buff with an incredible knowledge of ancient Egypt. Rick had a philosophical outlook on life. He was a caring and compassionate person who touched many lives. Rick believed in the importance of the family and was a dedicated father and friend who cared little about himself, but gave vastly to those around him. A memorial service will be held at the Niakwa Country Club at 620 Niakwa Rd. on Friday, November 30 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Canadian Cancer Society.
