HEATHER ANN SCHMIDT (nee ANTON) April 2, 1952 - November 25, 2007 Peacefully, after a lengthy illness with her husband Ron and family by her side on Sunday, November 25, 2007 at the Gimli Community Health Center, Heather Schmidt, aged 55 years of Winnipeg Beach, MB. Heather was predeceased by her father Thomas in 1971, mother Elsie in 1979 and mother in law Edith in 2003. Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 40 years, Ron, daughter Tracy (Larry), daughter Rhonda (Paul), father-in-law John and the pride of her life three granddaughters, Abbey, Andrea and Emilee. Also left to mourn her passing are six sisters, Ellen, Linda (Edmond), Donna (Larry), Janice, Kimberly (David) and Frederica (Lyle), brother-in-law Lawrence (Lorraine) and numerous nieces and nephews. Heather will be lovingly remembered for her kindness and generosity, her outgoing nature, her beautiful gardens and her passion for baking, cooking, canning and pickling. She truly was the hostess with the mostess. She enjoyed going for long drives with her family and spending time with her cherished grandchildren. The family would like to express their thanks to Home Care Services, especially to Jane and Jan and the staff of Gimli Community Health Center for their care and devotion. A special thank you to sisters Ellen and Linda. A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 30, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Gilbart Funeral Home, Gimli, MB.
