SHANE SCOTT MACKENZIE Still shocked and filled with grief, the family of Shane Scott Mackenzie, 38, announce his premature passing on Tuesday, November 27, 2007, following a tragic highway accident. Left cherishing his memory are his loving wife Pat (nee Wiebe), children Alysha and Alex, his mother Valerie Parker (Rand), father Petur Mackenzie, sister Eryn Mackenzie (husband Robert Taite), step-father Charles Begley, and his many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Even though his family is wondering how they will carry on without him, they are grateful that Shane was a happy man at the time of the accident. Life was full of promise as he headed to his lifelong friend Barry's, to prepare for an exciting season of snowmobiling, an activity which brought him great joy. Respected and considered family by his employers, Lyle and Lorraine Eby, and by his workmates at DSI Security Systems Inc., he enjoyed success in his chosen field. Shane drew strength from his love for, and marriage to Pat and being part of her large, supportive family. His life-long passion for all motorized activities was infectious, and shared by and with Alex and Alysha. One of Shane's great loves was being at the lake; first at his Gramma and Grampa's Bird Lake cottage, creating amazing memories with his Mom and his sister Eryn. He later helped his Dad build a home at nearby Flanders Lake and continued to create new memories there with Pat, Alysha, Alex and his Dad. Pat, Alysha and Alex wish to thank all of their family and friends who shared their three day ordeal at the S.I.C.U., Health Sciences Centre and especially want to thank Marcella, Dr. McDonald, Dr. Jacobson and Stacey for their care and compassion, as well as the para-medics and hospital staff. My son, my eternal optimist, always dreaming big because anything was possible, I'll love you always - Mom In lieu of flowers, Shane would have loved that donations be made to Nopiming Sno-Mads, Box 10,000, Lac du Bonnet, R0E 1A0. A celebration of Shane's life will be held at Thomson In the Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd., Winnipeg, on Saturday, December 1 at 2:00 p.m. THOMSON IN THE PARK FUNERAL HOME AND CEMETERY www.thomsoninthepark.com 925-1120 Life stories may be shared with friends and family across the globe at www.mem.com
