MYRTLE BERNICE DAVIS (nee BROWN) February 2, 1919 - November 28, 2007 Peacefully in her sleep, Myrtle passed away on Wednesday, November 28, 2007 at Kin Place Personal Care Home in Oakbank. Born to Sarah and David Brown, Myrtle lived on the farm in Eriksdale until moving to Winnipeg with her family as a young child. Myrtle was predeceased by her husband Bill, two brothers and three of her sisters. She is survived by and leaves to mourn her loving daughter Lynda (Bob) Askew; grandchildren, Andrea (Tracy) Cox, Andrew and Rob Askew; great-grandchildren, Sarah, Ryan and Crystal and sister Marjorie Gall. Mom graduated from Kelvin High School where she met her future husband Bill. They married in 1942. She spent four and a half years working for Eaton's during the war and many years later at Sears. She also volunteered her time at the Nearly New Shop for 18 years. Many happy summers were spent with family and friends at the cottage in Whytewold Beach. She doted on her young grandchildren. We all remember her love of readings, a good game of cards, her delicious Sunday dinners and homemade cookies, pies and cakes. Myrtle enjoyed traveling with Bill in their retirement years, making wonderful friends and great memories. Many thanks to the staff and nurses at Kin Place for their love, compassionate care and support. According to Mom's wishes cremation has taken place. A family graveside service will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers a donation can be made to a charity of one's choice. Arrangements entrusted to: Chapel Lawn Funeral Home 885-9715
