JOHN MOSPANCHUK It is with deep regret that we announce the sudden passing of John Mospanchuk, on the evening of November 27, 2007 at Seven Oaks General Hospital, at the age of 79. John leaves to mourn his wife of 56 years, Louise; daughters, Brenda Johnston of Selkirk and her sons, Barry, Brian, Alan; Sharon Wasny (Brett) of St. Andrews and their sons, Cameron, Cole; sister Olga Saydack (Alex) of Winnipeg; sisters-in-law, Helen Mospanchuk and Effie Mospanchuk; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, relatives and friends. John was predeceased by his infant son; brothers, Michael, Tony, Joseph (Shirley); sisters, Anne Pawlowich (Myrslaw) of Winnipeg, Jean Haughton of Whitehorse, YK, Mary Wale of Kamloops, BC; and parents, William and Caroline Mospanchuk of Winnipeg. John was born and raised in Riverton, MB. He married Louise in 1951, and moved to Winnipeg where he worked for over 45 years in the clothing industry as cutter. Over the years, he enjoyed the time spent camping at Bird's Hill Park with family and friends and vacationing with Alec and June, Jean and other family members as they visited various places in the United States and Canada. He enjoyed a long healthy retirement which was spent taking long walks, feeding the ducks in Kildonan Park, and watching the trains with his grandchildren. John was active always helping others in his apartment block by shovelling snow, sweeping sidewalks, or just working in his daughter's yard. It was John's wishes to be cremated with interment at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. A service will be held Monday, December 3 at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. The family wishes to thank Dr. Lazarus, and the team at Seven Oaks Hospital Emergency Department for their care and compassion during this difficult time. I am the smoothness of the pebble Nestled in your palm I am in the ocean breeze As it brushes past your arm I am the blue of a cloudless summer sky I am the whisper of a dream A half remembered sigh. I may be the essence Of the grains of desert sand The miles of tearstained ink The letters crumpled in your hand I am the breath that cools your sheets With midnight's sudden chill The spike of ice, the drift of snow Across some far distant hill. I am flying high above you The lone bird on its wing I am the last fish in the ocean But still a living thing Do not think of loneliness Do not lose strength or hope or will For I am all around you I am with you still Arrangements entrusted to: Chapel Lawn Funeral Home 885-9715
