Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryVICTOR AUSTIN AKER Vic passed away in Chilliwack at the age of 88. He was born February 19, 1919 in Winnipeg, MB and was predeceased by all his siblings. He is survived by his wife Doris; daughters, Angela (John) Mason of Kelowna, Sandi (Nick) Giannoulis of Chilliwack, Vicki Lynn Nash of Australia and son Terry (Virginia) of Chilliwack; nine grandchildren, 12 great-grand-children, many nieces, nephews and friends. Vic proudly served his country in the Second World War with the Canadian Army Manitoba Dragoons in England, Holland, France and Belgium. He retired from Acklands in 1987 after many years of management in Dauphin, Winnipeg, and Brandon, MB, Victoria, Vancouver and Burnaby, BC. In his retirement years he maintained contact with the corporate world by assisting others with his management skills and advice while working his Hazelnut Orchard in Chilliwack. He was a man of great honour and integrity, touching many people's lives with unconditional love. His great-grandchildren enjoyed many hours with Grampa driving up and down the rows of trees in the golf cart. He also had a love for wood and turned out many a cherished oak heirloom, never for profit just love of family. Another passion was travel, so on November 16, 2007 made his final management decision and bravely set out on his final journey to a place of peace and tranquility. At his request, there will be no service. God speed, you are very sadly missed.
