Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEVERT ERIC EDVART JOHNSON December 6, 1920 - November 28, 2007 It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend to many, on November 28, 2007 at the age of 86 years, at his residence. Evert leaves to mourn his wife Fjola; son Ivan (special friend Victoria); daughters, Lois (Lorne) and Lenore; grandchildren, Dwayne, Annette, Jennifer and Jeremy (Stephanie); also numerous nieces and nephews; son-in-law Guy Proulx as well as numerous extended relations. Evert was predeceased by his parents, brothers, sisters and son-in-law Luke Proulx. Evert worked at home on his father's farm until he joined the Canadian army on May 22, 1943. Evert served overseas for 19 months in the United Kingdom, Mediterranean area and Continental Europe. He was discharged on April 26, 1946 with the rank of Trooper. Following the Second World War Evert returned to the farm where he farmed with his parents and later on with his son (Ivan) side by side until his last six months when his failing health prevented him from his chores. Evert was a lifetime member of the Royal Canadian Legion Lundar Branch No. 185. Funeral service will be held on Monday, December 3, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. at the Chatfield Community Hall. Viewing will be held prior to the service. Lunch will follow the service. Active pallbearers will be Ronald Johnson, John Johnson, Lloyd Johnson, Jeremy Proulx, Dwayne Proulx, and Wayne Johnson. Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Holm and Peter Holm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Canadian Lung Association or charity of choice.
