R. GARTH DEASON September 24, 1963 - November 30, 2007 After a brief battle with cancer, our beloved bro, son and uncle Garth passed away at the age of 44. Garth will be deeply missed by his brothers, Darren and Scott, sister Dawn (Gord) Turcan, niece and nephew Jennifer and David Turcan, mother Audrey, stepmother Dorothy as well as many cousins, aunts and uncles. Garth loved nature and building things. He spent several years operating Kendall Point Lodge on the Winnipeg River with his family and friends. Garth last spent time in the Vancouver area, building and remodeling homes and commercial buildings, as well as fine art restoration in his spare time. There was nothing broken he couldn't fix. A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 8, 2007 at 1:00 p.m in the chapel of Voyage Funeral Home, 1531 Pembina Hwy. Special thanks to staff at CancerCare Manitoba and St. Boniface Palliative Care for their support to Garth and family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Garth's memory to CancerCare Manitoba or a charity of one's choice. Arrangements entrusted to: VOYAGE FUNERAL HOME CREMATORIUM 220 Hespeler Ave. @ Henderson Hwy. 668-3151

Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • I had the honour of living with Garth through the thick and thins of life from 1996 to 2005. I loved him and will never forget his true nature. I will always remember him for being genuine. We had the best of life together. I'll remember him for as long as I am fortunate to live. Thank you Garth. - Posted by: Julian Wilson () on: Feb 05, 2014

  • I was fortunate enough to meet Garth many years ago when I was a younger man and worked for him delivering mail to communities north of Winnipeg. I worked for him at the fishing lodge one summer and considered him to be an honourable and decent man and a friend of mine. I tried contacting him a few years back, but was unable to get a hold of him. It is now June 2013 and searched his name through the internet to look him up and am deeply saddened that he has passed, I regret not being able to connect with him once again to talk to him and let him know how he and Darren and the rest of his family made me feel welcome and treated me great respect. I am very sorry for the family's loss of a great guy and I apologize for not keeping in contact and letting you know that even though I was only a part of your family for a short time, I do appreciate the memories and experiences you and Garth gave me. - Posted by: Keith Carriefe (Friend,Employee) on: Jun 30, 2013
