LAURA PARSONS Laura died peacefully at Lions Personal Care Centre on Friday, November 30, 2007. She was the eldest daughter of Frank and Laura Bird born on August 19, 1913. Laura worked at the Hudson Bay Company until she married the love of her life Denis on June 6, 1936. Together they celebrated 49 years of marriage and had three daughters Frances (Don) Frederick, Gwyneth (Dave) Campbell and Phyllis Parsons. Laura was predeceased by her husband Dennis in 1986; her parents, Frank and Laura Bird; her brothers, Frank (Peggy), Roy (Lois); sister Dorothy and brother William in childhood. She is survived by her sisters, Connie Wyatt, Marie Charlesworth and Joyce (Jack) Cox; brother and sisters-in-law, Syd (Betty) Parsons, Nora Parsons and many nieces and nephews. Laura was a happy homemaker and delighted in her grandchildren, Dayna Wood (Boyd), Beth Frederick (Emil), David Frederick (Rhea), Heather Gibson (Curtis) and Cynthia Campbell. As time passed she was blessed with great-grandchildren Aiden and Carys Gibson, Audrey, Ann Marie and Dustin Frederick. Laura loved family get-togethers, celebrations on holidays, or at the lake. She was always the first one to offer to help. Her cheerful attitude and love of music provides us all with endless memories of joy. Mom was a thoroughly kind-hearted person. When her health failed she moved to Lions Personal Care Centre, second floor. We would like to sincerely thank all the staff who treated her so lovingly and especially all those parties and outings which she enjoyed so much. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Recreation Department, Lions Personal Care Centre, 320 Sherbrook Street, Winnipeg, MB, R3B 2W6 or to the charity of your choice. Funeral will be held Friday, December 7, 2007 at 12:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. You held my hand, I felt your strength, And I was not alone. Arrangements entrusted to: Chapel Lawn Funeral Home 885-9715
