WILLIAM JAMES KOCHIE November 28, 1952 - November 21, 2007 Sadly and unexpectedly on Wednesday, November 21, 2007, after a brief illness, Jim Kochie, aged 54, passed away at Langley Memorial Hospital in Langley, British Columbia. Jim was born in Kipling, SK. At a young age his parents moved the family to Churchill, MB, where he lived for the next eight years. The family then moved to Fairford, MB, where he spent his remaining childhood time. As a young adult, Jim came to Winnipeg where he resided for many years and in 1998 he moved to Calgary and then to British Columbia. While in Calgary he met his last love, Tracy Terry, whom stayed by his side until his death. Jim spent most of his life working in the glass industry and doing renovations, not only as an employee but eventually owning, at one time, Aaction Glass and Window here in Manitoba. He had a love of laughter and music and has touched the lives of many people throughout his short stay on earth. Jim was predeceased in May 1970 by both his mother, Winnifred and sister Darlene. Besides Tracy, he will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by father Bill (Pat) of Faulkner, MB; son Richard of Brandon, MB; son James, daughter Jen (Elmer) and granddaughter Sreanna, all of Richer, MB; sons, Ryan and Jason of Winnipeg, MB; brothers, Steve (Pat) of Winnipeg, MB, Gerry (Cheryl) of Richer, MB; sister Wyn (Andre) of Petawawa, ON; cousin-sisters, Rose (Ken) of Estevan, SK, and Joyce (Leo) of Kenora, ON, and stepsiblings, Donald (Shawna), Darlene and Bill Jr. (Tara). Also dearly missed by several nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank Langley Memorial for their care, Wendy Millar and Rick Gullickson of Maple Ridge, BC, for being good friends and Tracy for being there with him until the end and with her assistance with bringing Jim back home to Manitoba. Daughter Jen also wishes to thank her mother, Gladys Kochie, Bill and Pat Kochie, Wyn Fournier and Lissa Kochie for all their care, compassion, ideas, input and help during this time. Jim has been cremated. On November 26 a tribute to his life was held by the Terry family in Langley, BC. A family service with the Rev. Ron McCullough officiating will be held December 28 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Helen's Anglican Church, Fairford, to rejoin Jim with his mother and sister here in Manitoba. Rest in Peace Drifter
