RICHARD ELLIOTT LOTHIAN November 12, 1949 - December 4, 2007 It is with love, sorrow and a heavy heart that the family announces the sudden passing of Richard Lothian. He is survived by his mother Eunice Lothian, his wife Evelyn Lothian, his sister Sandra (Duncan) Brown, his children, Matthew (Tamalynn) Lothian, Lisa Lothian, David Lothian, his stepchildren, Christopher (Karly) Podolsky, Kenton (Jasmine) Podolsky, Amy Podolsky (David Tolusso) and his grandchildren, Joshua Courtenay, Myah and Elijah Sutton, Janelle Lothian, Breanna and Brendan Podolsky, and many other family members. He is honoured by Ron and Doreen Hildebrand, and Richard and Doreen Revesz; all are dear family friends that Richard thought of as family. He was born in Lethbridge, Alberta and lived across Western Canada, finally planting roots in Winnipeg. Richard served his country in the Canadian Armed Forces for 21 years, and retired as a Master Warrant Officer. His career later took him to Famous Players theatres, where he became a District Manager for Manitoba and Saskatchewan. After leaving the movie business, he became a PARA teacher with the River-East Transcona School Division, and worked as a sales representative with Randall Homes. Richard loved his summer vacations with family and friends. He enjoyed camping in British Columbia and Alberta, boating and being in the water, Disneyland, golfing, watching movies and eating popcorn, and gambling in Las Vegas. All members of his extended family have fond memories of him playing with the kids, and being one of the kids at the best of times. He was referred to as Fun Uncle Richard and the grandpa who spoils me . That fun never dissipated over time. He lived his life for his family and friends, offering his generosity and warm personality to anyone in need. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, December 8 at 2:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St., in Winnipeg. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes for donations in Richard's memory to go to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada. Richard will be deeply missed by all friends, business associates, and family. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
