OREST (ERNIE) JAMES WIWCHAR Suddenly and unexpectedly on Sunday, December 2, 2007 Orest was taken from us to be with God, at the age of 64 years. Remaining to forever cherish Orest's memory are his loving wife of 43 years of marriage, Ann; his five children, Stephen (Connie), Katherine, Michael (Mei), Margaret, Zenovia (Phillip); their 11 grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Modest (Willy), Zenovia (John), Amy (John), Sid (Judy), Christine (Dennis) and Stephen; Ann's brothers, sisters and in-laws; as well as numerous nieces, and nephews. He was predeceased by his father Stephen; mother Anna; his brothers, Boris, George, Victor, Nestor and Myron; as well as his father and mother in-law, James and Margaret Keoughan. Spending 35 years in the Canadian Armed Forces serving across Canada as an Armourer, Orest retired in Winnipeg as a Chief Warrant Officer. He then went to work for Bristol Aerospace until his untimely death. He served his community in many volunteer capacities with his generous efforts appreciated by the various communities he lived in across Canada. Whenever anyone needed help, Orest was there to provide assistance and encouragement. Of particular interest to him were youth oriented endeavours a trait he has passed onto his children. Orest was well loved, appreciated and respected by his family, friends, neighbours and co-workers. Evening prayers will be held on Sunday, December 9 at 8:00 p.m. in the St. Charles Roman Catholic Church, 320 St. Charles Street. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, December 10 at 11:00 a.m. also in the church with Rev. Fr. Terance McGrath, presiding. Honorary Pallbearers will be Messrs., Dave Bertin, Bernie Wazny, Remie Cote, Stef Fortier, Eugene Vancauwenbergh, Alf Nielson, Ralph Wall, Gord Atkinson and Paul Keoughan. Active Pallbearers will be Messrs., Stephen Wiwchar, Michael Wiwchar, Ian Black, Bob Sullivan, Wally Williams, Dave Lavich. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations to Canadian Food for Children, 40 King Georges Rd., Toronto, Ontario, M8X 1L3, 416-231-9100.
